Mr. Thulani Petros Mazibuko was born in Loskop, Escourt in KwaZulu Natal. He is currently the Director of Social and Economic Development at Okhahlamba Local Municipality, and has held this title since 2013.
Mr. Mazibuko has a BTech Degree in Management which he completed in 2016, a B. Admin Degree which he obtained from the University of Zululand, an Executive Leadership Municipal Development Programme Certificate from the University of Pretoria, a Diploma in Local Government from the Belgravia Institute, and a Certificate Programme in Management Development for Municipal Finance from Wits Business School. Mr. Mazibuko is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Public Administration through the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Mr Mazibuko matriculated in 1991 from Amangwane High School located in the Bergville area.
His first job was at Burhose S.A Estcourt as a Yarn Supplier and Quality Checker, he then decided to leave his job and attend University in the pursuit of better socio-economic opportunities. After completing his studies, he became an L.E.D Manager and Co-Coordinator of the Estcourt Community Empowerment Project from Centre for Community Development of Vista University (C.C.D), for a five-year period. Before moving to Okhahlamba Local Municipality, he was employed at Imbabazane Local Municipality as a Manager in the office of the Municipal Manager.
